Roll Eyes Hi Love all the episodes--thought I would start coming to the forum.  I have surgery this tuesday July 7th.  I am nervous.  I am not second guessing--I want the surgery--I just have begun to read so many personal accounts I start to wonder if I will have any of the difficulties that you hear about in the "worst case" scenarios.  Another part of me believes I will handle the surgery, and first few months well--It is the unknown that is making me nervous.
Thanks for letting me share,
Lorri

Welcome to the freaky forum. I think its pretty normal to be nervous before such a major life change. Keep in mind that we have been there and know how you feel. Let us know how your surgery goes for you and you will most likely do just fine!

Good luck to you,
Patti

Hi Lorri,

Welcome to the gang!  Congrats on your upcoming surgery.  You've found a great place to hang out... we have lots of us that have just recently gone through the surgery... and... lots of oldies but goodies.  Someone to relate to on every level.

Hi and Welcome from Sacramento, CA!!  Congrats on your upcoming surgery!  I also had a bunch of 'what ifs' running through my head, but I knew that I would have more problems if I DIDN'T have the surgery in the long run, so here I am an almost 3 month old freak!!

Welcome, Lorri (from a Lori!)

It's totally normal to be nervous. I was like that before surgery, and it was definitely fear of the unknown. What would the pain be like? Would I be starving afterwards? How would I be able to get up and move around like I was supposed to? Would I be the only person that this surgery didn't work on?

It's been less than two weeks for me, but most of my fears have gone away. Surgery was easier than I expected, and I face those fears one at a time and nothing has been as bad as the fears themselves!

You're going to do great! Will be glad to make room for you on the loser's bench!

Hi there and welcome to BTV...  Lots of questions are great.  Nervousness is totally normal.  Ask the folks who have been there or are going through it right now.  No way can we eliminate all of your fears - but maybe we can lessen them a bit.

Again - Welcome!

Yep, you came to the right place.  I was scared to death but I soon realized it wasn't near as bad as I had it made out to be in my own head.  Good Luck to you and we are here for you.  Will be thinking of you come Tuesday.
