Post op a few days (Dec 28th) - it's been freezing here for several days and now a snow storm is moving in.

I am making the best of it - I hope.  While staying at Mom's Tues - Thur, I paced the floor for 10 minutes 4 x a day.  Now home, and I am doing the same - pacing the floor 10 min 4 x a day.  It is 75 steps from back door to front door.  In that 10 minutes, I can make 7 - 8 loops or about 1/4 mile each time.  To maintain a pace- I'm doing this to a Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies dvd.

It isn't the best, I know, but it is a way to MYA.  Frankly, folks, I am afraid of walking outside in the snow/ice.  I have fallen way too many times.  Pre surg, falling meant looking like a fool trying to get back up again.  Post surg - well, this isn't the best time to take a tumble.

I'll try the actual dvd workout soon.  Right now, I am still a bit sensitive bending - especially to the right.

Just take it easy and do the walking for now.

You have to let yourself heal first before starting any serious bending and stretching workouts.

My surgeon would not give us the all clear until the 6 wk post-op appointment.

Tracy, you are moving and that is good.  You have to have time to heal dear.  Good to hear from you, and congrats!

Walking right now to prevent deep vein thrombosis and keep your lungs open and clear, not necessarily for a workout...you might feel "too good" so be careful with the amount/type of activity you are doing.  Stick to the 10 minutes walks - sounds like a great plan right now.  be careful with the bending and stretching - might affect your stitches and healing.  And send me some snow Smiley

Ditto what others have said - just focus on walking right now.  Smiley
