Three sleeps to flying away to PV!  We used to tell our daughter about upcoming vacations by sleeps - she understood that better. I've lost 8.4 lbs so far on the pre-op diet, which consists of broth based soups (no chunks), protein drinks, and greek yogurt. And yet still, with all that yogurt, I have thrush?? WTH? (watch out guys, chick grossness coming) I don't have a yeast infection. I haven't had this issue probably since I was a baby, and my daughter only had it twice. Why thrush, and why now??? Especially when eating so much yogurt. I don't get it. But my doc can't get me in this week before I travel so I'm trying natural remedies such as saltwater rinses, apple cider vinegar, brushing with baking soda, and eating more yogurt, as well as trying to avoid anything with sugars in it. I dunno what else to do about that except keep dealing with it. Anyway, I'm excited but this one thing is really bugging me - I have this fear that they will not do my surgery (even though that's unlikely) because of it. Eeek! |

No, I wouldn't think that would keep you from your surgery at all. In fact, Dr. Joya will probably give you something to clear it right up after the surgery! You're gonna do so great!

Tam! Where ya been? I've missed you I decided to not be worrying about it and went to urgent care - she gave me a pill and a liquid medication and said it wasn't severe at all and should clear up within a couple days - before I fly out - yay! Anyway, I'm just so wound up right now, I can barely function at work - two more work days then flying! |

Kris - I was in Alabama for a long weekend to celebrate my brother's 25th wedding anniversary. Had a beautiful reception and a lovely weekend with family. Back to the grindstone this week!
I'm glad you went ahead to urgent care. Peace of mind is worth a lot when you're facing something this momentous! I'm out of the office tomorrow, so just know that I am praying for you and cannot wait until this is all over and you're on the road to a healthy you. Don't hesitate to email me if you need ANYTHING at all! I'm so excited to have another sleever joining the freaks!

T2, I'm glad to be joining the ranks of the sleevers I've lost 8 lbs so far since last Wednesday starting on the liquid diet, but I could never maintain this kind of diet to lose all my weight - ugh!! I'm already tired of it - good thing you don't feel so much like eating anyway for a bit after surgery, because I am just craving red meat! LOL |

I know! And you poor thing - you've still got more liquids coming your way after the surgery! But trust me, you'll be so full from 2 little ounces that you won't want anything else! I did 2 oz about every 2 hours, and for about a week, that was all I could do. Just follow his plan whatever you do, and don't hesitate to ask if you have a question. I really want you to be successful! I know you will be!

Thanks I'm winding down at work now, and getting ready to head home and finish packing - flying out to PV tomorrow morning. Yayyyy! I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. I do sometimes have those food grief feelings - like not being able to turn to food for comfort anymore, certainly not to the extent of eating a lot, or of missing my rare steak, or whatever, but then I remember, it's a few short months of discomfort to improve the rest of my life! I can live with that. |

I'll do my best If you're on facebook, a friend gave me the idea to post a daily comment if I can, especially after the surgery, so all my friends can see it in their news feeds. I'll try to do that, because my mom and sisters are on facebook as well. I'll also try to get on here a little. Though we will be in Vallarta. And I will be distracted by ocean and mountains and such.  Now I really need to go to bed. I'm so wound up. |
