Well, I've watched just a few of the BariatricTV episodes and thought I'd stop in for a peek at the rest of the freaks around here.  Already, some of my friends are thinking that i'm becoming a freak- but actualy they should know that already!

I have a sign by my back door that says:"A friend is someone who thinks you're a good egg, even though you are slightly cracked."     Well- it seemed appropriate!

anyway- I've been looking into this surgery for awhile. After I saw the results that someone else was having from her surgery- she was doing great- then suddenly 6-7 months out from surgery. She had a very bad complication. and THAT was the end of me thinking about surgery for the last 2-3 years.  but my health isn't getting better- my weight has kinda gotten stuck- BMI 46 or so.
..Another friend also had surgery and is doing GREAT- so i started to do my own research- my surgery date is JULY 23rd.
I am excited, nervous, hopeful!  I guess that is NORMAL! anyway - it's nice to know there are so many of us around. comforting. It's so nice being able to PICK YOUR BRAINS!!!  thanks in advance... JEllen

Hi and Welcome from Sacramento, CA!!  Yep the first time I looked into this surgery we (Hubby and I) didn't follow through and fight for it.  We just weren't ready yet.  Not for the commitment that it takes and as a nurse I also have seen some of the complications that can happen.  The only thing is, until I did some serious research, I hadn't really see the good surgeries  Smiley  So now both Hubby and I are Freaks and loving every minute of it (unless we forget to chew enough or eat too fast - LOL - that learning curve will get you every now and again)... so read, ask, reply and enjoy!!

Hi there.  Same thing for me.  I looked into it and decided that I could do it with 'just' diet and exercise.  Um.. not so much.. a few years later I had even MORE to lose and surgery looked like my salvation.  Good thing I followed through cuz it truly was.  I know everything will work out for you the way it is supposed to!

Welcome to BTV.. We're glad to have ya
