Be a Person Of Impact and Make a Difference.

« on: December 12, 2010, 07:43:39 PM »

Hey everyone I need a little help, I feel like I am self sabotaging my self. I am 5 week post op, so I am a baby freak. I haven't been drink my protein shakes cuz it makes me sick, but I am trying to eat high protein meals like ricotta pancakes with unjury in it, turkey lunch meat with ff cream cheese, shrimp cocktail, fried quinoa, salmon quinoa burgers with taziki sauce made with Greek yogurt. I eat only 3 meals a day and suppose to have 2 snacks. I usually forget to eat my snacks in between my meals. At night I have been having a 90 cal multigrain carmel  snack pack. I think that is my trouble. The last 1 1/2 weeks I stopped exercising, my son admitted himself into the hospital for trying to kill himself, he tried to hang himself on my treadmill that is in his room. Since he has been home I don't want to disturb him by bugging him if I can use my treadmill. I finally received my celebrate vitamins and calcium so I am back on track with that. I received also the ENS cake batter protein shake so I will get back to drinking protein. I have notice I have not dropped one pound since it happened. That is also around the time I started to it the 90 cal multigrain carmel packs. I need help and advice to get back on track. So all those super freaks please give me your wisdom.

Majority of freaks stall between 3-6 weeks out.

The body is adjusting and having a WTF moment - Perfectly normal

I really encourage you to journal your intake at myplate or somewhere similar as study after study show that freaks who journal lose more weight and keep it off vs. freaks who don't.

I cant give any advise as far as the early life as a freak since I haven't had the surgery yet but I do agree with Ian.  Logging what you eat and even your exercise is everything.   It helps keep you acceptable.  I noticed you are using either an iPhone touch or iPone.  I use an application called MyFitnessPal. I like this app. I hope this helps. You can do it. Keep it up with the great meal choices.

In addition to Ians advice, you may want to speak to a professional about your emotional well being. It sounds like you went through a traumatic experience and MIGHT be covering it up in "snacks".

This is a journey with many dips and it's important to recognize them. You're doing the right thing by coming here!

Good luck.!

Im so glad you are choosing to take care of yourself. Many times we forget to stop and take care of our own needs because of our preoccupation with the needs of our families!!

I like Spark People because they often times have WEIGHTS (by the oz or gram), they also have a partner site of Spark recipes that's allows you to enter specific recipes and however many servings you can get. Sometimes I enter the recipe into spark recipes and sometimes I enter the "recipe" directly into spark people as part of a meal plan. It will take some time to get the hang of it, but if this one simple thing will mean MORE success, keep this commitment.

Oh honey we all have to work at it from time to time and you have had a huge blow. Just try to do your best and remember each day is a new chance to get it right. I use thedailyplate.com as you can put in and get your recipes values with the portions that you really eat. also you will have stalls change things up and move more if you can. I have found for me more water and more protein move me along.
