At what point did hunger actually become noticeable post RNY for you?

I'm seven months out and I still don't really feel hunger. At least not like I did pre-op.

One year out - and NEVER hungry. Sometimes I get a weird "FEED ME NOW" feeling, but that's when I've gone a long time (5+ hours) without eating. It's not like hunger though. I also started getting what felt a little like pre-op hunger, actually in the tummy region, but it turns out that they are definitely "thirst pangs" and a drink takes those away immediately. I'm hoping I'm one of the lucky ones who never feels hungry again - fingers crossed

Ummm...I never lost my hunger. Oh..it decreased significantly...but I never lost it. I have days where I'm hungry and I have days where I'm not.
5 years out....I eat when I get hungry...but I think I have my body on a schedule because i get hungry about the same time every day.

About 4 or 5 months out I started to get hungry. I don't feel like it's an out of control hunger like pre surgery but I do get hungry. Most of my hunger though I think is head hunger.

I'm almost 3 weeks out and I feel as though I've experienced hunger, especially if I go to long without eating....say 6+ hours.

I don't think I ever lost my hunger, but like Toni mentioned, it was lessened for a time. I think the first week maybe I wasn't truly hungry just because of the surgery shock my body was in. Wish I had lost that hunger feeling. I had hoped to.

Just over 8 months out... no real HUNGER, but occasionally I'll have hunger now... but sometimes I can get thirst confused with hunger, so I grab my liquid first and then when I'm done IF I'm still hungry, THEN I eat. Plus that way I make sure I get my fluids in

I started to get hungry again after about 6 months. And now there is NO Way I could go long without eating. I need to eat every three hours or I am a cranky girl. I never really let myself get really empty for long periods of time. My stomach hurts and my ulcer burns...it feels like my stomach is digesting itself if I get too hungry.
I don't get rumblings in my tummy anymore...not hungry like that - i just FEEL like i NEED TO EAT. (can you sense that this feeling is akin to a hungry animal...FEED ME SEMORE!)

I don't get hungry still and I'm 13 mths out. I'm so glad too. It totally takes the pressure off. My thing is more of a food routine - my body is used to me eating at certain times throughout the day and I get antsy from being off my feeding schedule. But I haven't really experienced any hunger pangs postop!!!

I am 9 years out from my original RNY wls. I still don't get hungry, or at least not the hunger the same way I felt it pre wls. I will get the feeling as mentioned above "feed me now" but that only lasts for a very short while. I think it is my body's way of saying it needs food. I literally have to force myself to remember to eat. If I do happen to have a feeling that I think might be "hunger" it passes so quickly that if I don't act on it I have forgotten it faster then it occurred. What drives me to remember to eat is what I think is my blood sugar dropping a little low. (not sure how to explain it). I just get feeling a little weird, almost like "light headed" but not. As soon as I eat a protein bar or some food it goes away quickly.

I am 1 month out and most of the time I don't get hungry and have to remind myself to eat. If I have skipped a meal and I have gone 5 or more hours I get this horrible pain and get very irritable. I need to start taking something with me when I go to town and try to plan ahead. (I live 45 min away from town in the country) I am still trying to get use to my pouch and trying to get into a routine but having problems being consistant.

I had what I call my NEW hunger at about 4-5 months out. It's really an overwhelming sense of empty if I go 4-5 hours without eating. But at 3-4 hours, I feel a small emptiness that is manageable.
Like Toni, I have developed a routine to avoid this overwhelming feeling as I will usually make some bazaar choices if I allow myself to feel that. (like cottage cheese, hard boiled egg, sesame seeds, mushrooms and peas all mixed together...) and those are the times I over eat.
I just have a routine, and i try to have something healthy in my purse for when something unexpected comes up, (like almonds, beef jerky, or Atkins protein bar)

I also eat about every 3 hours. If I don't, then I really don't feel well. I don't know if it is actully hunger or if it's dropping blood sugar but I listen to it. It works for me to eat 5 times a day.
