Tuesday I'm getting a CT scan done.   They handed me two 15 oz bottles of contrast solution.  I'm supposed to drink them.   When I pointed out I was a bariatric surgery patient and I probably couldn't just drink the things down, I was told do the best I can to get it all down... and to take my time if I needed to.

Anyone else have to deal with a CT scan since surgery?  How did your doctors/ techs tell you how to deal with the contrast solution?

I'm still left wondering if the timing or volume is more crucial in this.  My hospital seems to have no answers.

thoughts?

Call your bariatric center and ask for their opinion, just to be on the safe side. Good luck with your tests, I hope everythin comes out ok for you.

Yes.. I had to do it about 3 months after surgery when I ended up in the ER with sever pains in my tummy area..  I told them the dealio and they told me to do the best I could as well.  So I did.. and it worked just fine.  Don't hurt yourself.  Get in what you can of that icky crap..  It will be just fine.
