My new favorite is a subway wrap.

I pretty much order this little baby:

one wrap with light mayo, black forest ham, provolone cheese, spinach leafs, red onions, and back olives.

The combination of these flavors are AWESOME!!

For me, it's got to have lots of flavor, or I ain't touching it.

I won't lie...I tried fast food hamburgers....kids meals...and the food just taste horrible.  And I enevitable get sick to stomach. Bleh!!

Hmmm.. Fast food... I really like the carne asada burritos at Rubios... they chop everything up into teeny tiny bite sized pieces..  I just slice open the tortilla and eat the insides out... It looks like something out of one of those Alien movies when i am done.. but heck.. it's all part of the freaky mystique that IS weight loss surgery!

I was actually glad you mentioned the Hardee's Low Carb Thickburger in your episode. That's been a go-to for me when I can't do anything but fast food. Really trying to stay away from it, but sometimes, convenience takes precedence.

I'm also trying to stay low carb, but I have gone to Taco Bell and eaten the inside out of a chicken soft taco or a beef & bean burrito. High protein, but the carbs can be murder, even without the tortillas.

I'll also get a grilled chicken sandwich or a burger from other fast food places and just remove the bun.

Where I live we don't have anything really besides Mikey D's and Taco Bell near by, so if I have too I grab a pinto bean and cheese from Taco Bell and if in another town (only once recently) I grabbed the Wendy's chili and I have to say I am not super excited about it.  I am a nalley's chili girl all the way but in a pinch a Wendy's chili would do......

When i'm out and about and needs something quick, i head right to the nearest chinese restaurant!  There is always one near, and they always have the soup pot on!!!  Nothing better than a cup of Hot & Sour or a cup of Egg Drop.... Smiley

who would ever believe i'm saying this... i used to head to the nearest grocery store for a bag of Oreos and a quart of milk!!   Embarrassed

Oreos and milk...i blame them for me becoming obese.

No lying...I could smell an Oreo a mile a way...loved them.  I craved them with both pregnancies and my mom would bring me a package and milk. I would hide them from the hubby...just ask him....I could tell if he got into them..the smell would linger in the air.  They are the devils food.

I like Jersey Mike's.  They have a sub that I like and I always get it in a wrap.  Then I open up the wrap and eat out all the insides.  Unless its a low carb wrap, I don't eat it...  PLUS I see all that goop and think, "man, look how much space that would take up in my tummy...  and there is not much protein in this thing...  there would be no room for any protein in there!"

I also like salads with chicken breast on top.  Or, a chicken sandwich and take off the bun...  GRILLED, never fried.

I went to the Chick Fil A Website and they have a low carb options menu.  I found it by trying to look up nutritional information.  It tells you what the order and how many carbs they have.  Check it out!

Inchworm - thanks for the Chick-Fil-A tip! This is awesome! I didn't even know they would do a low-carb version of their sandwiches. Just goes to show that you only have to ask! Good information!

Has anyone tried the Fresco Menu items at Taco Bell?

http://www.tacobell.com/fresco/nutritionGuide.html

What do you think of the protein and carb numbers?
And a bit high in sodium of course.

Not for eating every day for sure.

well, pre-op, I love it - I prefer fresco over regular, if the tomatoes are fresh - tomatoes and cilantro - yummy Smiley

That chicken nugget thing sounds good. Maybe we can invent a chicken nugget cutter like a cookie cutter.
Dinosaur shapes anyone? How about stars? Squares and other geometric shapes?
(wait..they already have those)

I was really excited about Wendy's new Asian Chicken Bites - until I found out they were fried before they're dipped! Come on! Why couldn't they have just left them alone??

[In Northern California]
I noticed the other day that Jack in the Box had a couple of things that would be safe to eat.  They had Grilled Chicken Strips.  There are your naked Chicken Nuggets!  I didn't see those until after I ordered so I don't have a verdict on taste.   They also have the Chicken Fajita Pita.  Stay Away from their teriyaki bowls - LOADED with sugar.

Micky D's has the snack wraps.  The Chipotle Grilled wrap is not bad.  It does have the carbs of the small tortilla though...but you could pull out the chicken.  McDonald's website is cool because you can play with the nutrition information, if you want to calculate what the Chipotle Snack Wrap nutrition info is without the tortilla...you can do that.  (Carbs go from 28 to 6.)   I have to say I just got lost in the McD's nutritional section on their website... I was impressed with  all the information and all the ways to consume it, forgive the pun.

I just noticed Toaco Bell also allows you to remove ingredients to calculate nutitional value...the carbs in a Fresco Chicken Soft Taco go from 22 to 4.  Pretty cool.    The Fully Loaded Taco Salads (Fresco Style) in both Chicken and Beef look good.

Anyway... I can't believe I spent all this time (at work) checking out these websites.  But it was kinda fun - like a scavenger hunt. Wink
