Okay, so I met a man about two weeks ago on a first date.  It went well.   I invited him to attend a NY eve party with me, and he accepted.

THEN, I met a man about a week ago, also on a first date.  It went VERY well.  We've talked to one another every day since then, and will get together tomorrow evening.  I like him a lot.  Though the one who is going with me to the party tonight is very nice, I'm finding myself thinking about the other often.

So, I get the awkward task of letting the one tonight know that as much as I like him, I'm not "feelin it."

THAT hasn't happened in a LONG time - as in, ever. LOL

Well, it was so late that I didn't talk to the one I need to talk to yet - but I will.  Because I spent the afternoon hanging out with the one I REALLY like, and it was really great.  THEN, there was another fella - also flirting with me last night.

What the hell???  I'm working very hard to keep myself in check and not go all "Kris gone wild" or anything LOL

Go ahead, go wild Kris! Then come back here and tell us all about it because us old folks (me) are living vicariously through you. LOL   Grin

Well, let's see - the NYEve date is a very nice man, but I didn't feel the chemistry.

Next day I spent time with the other fella - and while some of it was very nice, I got really sick of hearing his "Eeyore" attitude - he is already being all negative about the chances of us having a relationship of any kind because, as he says, he doesn't think he'd be able to be what I needed or wanted.  I thought that was damn presumptious for a second date.  We had talked every day for a couple weeks, but still!  So anyway, I started the whole "reassuring" thing, and the date ended okay - I suppose.  But then, while I was at a gathering with my friends yesterday evening, he called me, and started that Eeyore "this won't work" shit.

I said, "Look, EVERY RELATIONSHIP FAILS, unless they make it til one member of the couple dies.  If you live your life in fear that you're going to get your heart broken, even this early in a dating relationship, you are going to die old and alone, so stop putting up barriers and give me a call when you're willing to risk a little bit to get to know someone.  Otherwise, just don't."  I haven't heard from him since.  Wink

Met up with a friend for a movie today - I'm attracted to him as well, but I'm not going there - he hasn't been split from his wife long enough, so we'll keep it as friends! So there you have it.  Two busts and an "on hold," but ah well. LOL

A few years ago after having gotten out of a horrible relationship of 4 years and then dropping 80 lbs... I went through about a year of "kissing frogs"... seemed like every other one had one issue or another.

My best advice.... just try to have fun.  Find someone who you can have fun and laugh with.  Heck, when I met my love...I totally thought that we would just be friends and nothing more.  But after a few weeks of talking and hanging out... well, we fell in love and have been together for almost 3 years Smiley  So ya never know Smiley

I agree!  Hence the reason I don't want to date an Eeyore LOL.  I've done about 3 years now of dating frogs - with a couple decent ones in between that just didn't work out.  I'm definitely in the mood to enjoy someone and enjoy myself! Smiley

Back to the trenches for me Grin

And you and your sweetie are absolutely to be congratulated for finding one another.  I'm so glad when I see that happen!

I am so jealous of you! At least you're out there and getting them weeded out. I've yet to do my first date, singles group, or anything, but 2010 is MY year! I swear it is! One of my sweet friends has been my New Year's kiss for about the past 5 years, and I told him that this was absolutely the last year he would have to fill in! (He doesn't consider it a chore or anything, but still...)

I love it!  Go Kris Go!

And...if you need a Kris Gone Wild weekend - I say go for it!  But it sounds like you are keeping your head on and the right #1 in perspective, yourself.  All good stuff!

Tammy, my friend, this IS your year!  And mine Wink  We'll have a great year together, and start weeding out those fellas til we find the RIGHT ones.  Rob can join us, since he's in the dating game now too.

I have another date on Saturday - we actually went out (sort of) about two years ago, but neither of us was ready for anything at all then.  We shall see what this time holds - I'm thinking probably just the start of a good friendship.  And that's okay - one can never have too many good friends!
