We spent the day manatee watching! We went to Blue Springs State Park (Orange City, FL) about 20 minutes away from where I live and we walked around for about 3 hours! I would have NEVER been able to walk around that long before. Hi Guys, I Freakin' Did it - 10 months after my RNY I bowled a 300 game! For years my bowling skills went down hill due to my increasing weight. After surgery and becoming more active, I was able to take my game up several notches. On July 9, 2009 I was fortunate enough to bowl 12 strikes in a row, in my summer league, to achieve a perfect game. At the end of the 2008-2009 season my average was 175 and now it's 203. Woohoo!  I can hardly believe it. To mark my achievement I bought and wear my 300 game ring proudly. My wife and I even attended the October Obesity Help Rye Brook Conference costum party dressed as a bowling team! Enjoy and look forward to your weekly show. Keep up the good work! Paul Stevens   |

This was my celebration of my 1 year surgiversary… done about 3 weeks early in April 2008 in Hawaii.
I would have never considered this at my heavy weight (honestly – who would have wanted to strap themselves to me at that weight??)….and it was awesome.

OK - this is a pretty simple I FREAKIN DID IT! Pre-op I had gotten to the point of avoiding booths because I had to squeeze myself in. Uncomfortable, embarrassing - you name it. Now, not only can I sit quite comfortably in a booth.. my four year old can lay behind me playing peek-a-boo with dad!
Picture quality is questionable...but I still love the pic!

When my husband deployed almost a year ago I weighed 150lbs more than he did. I had RNY right before he left. While he has been gone I lost the 150lbs and was able to fit in his clothes. I took this picture and sent it to him. He put it on his wall and his buddies were saying, "Is that your wife? She sure has changed!". An update: I lost another 25lbs and now these clothes are too big!

I am Freaking living my dream. By Feb. 15 I will be a student at the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts. This has been a life time dream of mine. I was always afraid to do it. This was at the top of my list after my RNY. And One day I picked up the phone and called. Went in for my interview and was accepted right on the spot. I feel blessed to be able to do this. And my goal is to learn how to make make gourmet WLS foods.  |

I Freakin did it!
My name is Amy and I had RNY in May 2008. I have lost 150 pounds! I am now a lean 135 pounds.
My WOW moment came this last weekend. Pre-surgery, my mom passed away. When we were cleaning out her closet, my sister-in law Jean asked if she could have mom's Colorado Rockies baseball Jersey. At the time I thought sure! I'll never fit into it! (Mom was a very small person)
This weekend, I asked if I could just try it on. It fit! I couldn't believe it! I'm small and skinny now! Jean was so happy and proud of me! She insisted that I keep it and said that mom was watching me from Heaven! Whoopie!!
