Well, you'd think after all this time I'd got most of the "I FREAKIN DID IT"s out of the way but..... I FREAKIN DID IT! I spent 2 days away from home and ate out.....I ordered sensibly from a menu and didn't use it as an excuse to go off track! (Which is what I've always done before) At the Italian restaurant: - I passed on the bread
- had a decaff coffee whilst everyone ate bread and starters,
- ordered a delicious salad, ate until I was full (not stuffed!)
- and passed on dessert as there was nothing suitable and I was full anyway.
, I enjoyed the food, and the company and didn't feel all uptight and stressed like I normally would in that situation. Neither of my companions know about my wls, and no one made comment on my food choices. I did it!

A huge week of "I Freakin' Did Its" for me . . . 1) Rode on an airplane without a seat-belt extension 2) Dropped below the big 200 pound mark 3) Took a long snowmobile ride in the mountains 4) The best for last . . . I went skiing for the first time ever!! (Note: I am not sure I would recommend Vail for a first time skiing adventure.)
I am starting to like myself again and have 25+ years of fatness to make up for . . . nothing can stop me now!!

I had a weekend full of "I Freakin' Did It!" First, Wednesday, sitting in the plane on the way to Vegas... not only no seat belt extension, but I had more belt left over than I knew what to do with! I don't know how much I walked... but I spent Wednesday evening walking up and down the Strip checking out the sights.... and most intersections have these walkways that take you up and over the street... I was skipping the escalators and taking the stairs up, two at a time! Then there was more walking Thursday night, Friday all day, Saturday night (just don't mention Pawn Stars to Amy or Amanda...), and Sunday... Plus there was the hiking around Valley of Fire State Park and Hoover Dam on Thursday where I stood in both NV and AZ at the same time. Then of course there was Friday, where I not only took up Lynnda's challenge, I flaunted it.

That's ok Rob, you rested up Sunday night playing blackjack with me and your Mom! It was great to meet her by the way! Please tell her the town in WI is Danbury, that where the hole in the wall casino is located.

I have quite a few, but one that I just recently did - I got my haircut - reallly short! I never felt confident enough to do that before - felt my face was too fat and that having it short would not look good. And when I say short - I mean - shave your neck short. AND I LOVE IT! It's super funky - I even have a little violet in my hair!
I'm not sure how to post a pic - but I'll give it a try. Hopefully it will work.

Ok not brave enough to post a picture but how about this.
Last night I got in the shower and almost no water pressure. So I hollered down and no one had any water on. Next I got out and wrapped a towel around me and charged down to were the house filter was ( we are on a well ) and it was gunky so I changed it.
The NSV - I kept the towel on the whole time with no ajustments and no hairclips to keep it done up. And it was a regular bath towel not one of the beach towels I've used for years instead.
OMG was that a ah ha moment.

Hi Ladies,
I'm tickled and I just have to share. Last week my college roommate (we graduated in 1996!) emailed me and said she knew I was in the process of losing and "don't take this the wrong way", but she had some jeans & pants that I might be able to fit into. My roomie was always the tall thin amazon woman and I couldn't imagine ever "FITTING" in any of her clothes. Well she sent me four pair of pants they are size 18. A FREAKIN' EIGHTEEN - a size I haven't seen in probably two freakin' decades. Well, I freakin' did it! I actually was able to pull them on, button and freakin' zip them. I even wore a pair to the freakin' grocery store and felt damn good doing it. Just one month ago I started my journey as a size 24 at 293 pounds, and now I'm just over one month out and I'm down 33 freakin' pounds and apparently I can tightly slip into a freakin' 18. I'm absolutely freakin' blown away by this.
Not only did I fit my broad freakin' arse into a size 18, but I've just hit my first major goal. I've battled all my life with my weight and as of today I've lost more freakin' weight in one month than I've ever lost in any one try. I'm very freakin' proud.
Thanks guys for all the inspiration you have given me...not to mention all the tips and freakin' tricks. I'm a better freakin' person for watching your show!
Cheers, Shan (alphashan15)
Photo is of me in my 18s!!!!!

Hey there to all the freaks in Freakville!!
So, I had my first big "I freaken did it!" this weekend. I did the Seattle St. Patty's day 5K!! Now, I didn't run it, I speed walked it with two of my friends. We did the 3.8 mile course in 55 min and we were haulin arse!! I felt so great after words too. We all did. In fact, after the race, we decided to walk to one of our favorite eateries which was just another short almost 3 miles away. I can say that this time last year, if anyone had told me I would be in a 5K I would have laughed in their face. I'm almost 4 months out, down 68 pounds and I feel better than I did in high school. This surgery has been the best thing I've ever done for myself!! My husband couldn't be happier too. He was so proud of me and he wants to do one with me!
Anyway, just wanted to share my happy day yesterday. Chow Dahlings!
