Hello all I am MoMiks Hubby, I am now joining the forum.  I was banded on 9/9/09 and I am now down 49 pounds and I lost 30 pre surgery for a total of 79 pounds gone so far.  I have not had my first fill yet I plan to do that in the next week or two.

Some questions:
I would like to hear what others first fill was like?

Is 49 pounds (after surgery) a good weight loss so far?  I feel like I should have lost more...

For other banders what type of weight loss do you have per week?

My weight loss seems to come in spurts is that normal (I lose nothing for 2 weeks then lose 4 pounds)?

I have so much more to lose so any other words of wisdom would be great!

Thanks

Hey Mr. Mo Mik....

Welcome to our little world. :-)

I can't answer the band specific questions but I can answer the one about spurts.....Yes...you'll lose in spurts. Or as they are commonly known as platueaus. So many different things effect weightloss from what you eat, how much exercise you get, how much water, how much protein, if you building muscle...it doesn't come off regularly...It's pretty spurty.

ooh... a new word...spurty (I know it should be sporadic but then...I like to be different)

Congrats...You really are doing a great job.

Hi MoRan..  Welcome to BTV.. I can't speak specifically about the band either.. But I think that your loss since September is great!  45 lbs down is 45 lbs down, my friend!

Hopefully some bandsters will chime in here to put your mind at ease..

Welcome!  My hubby and I are on this journey together, too, ala RNY.  Congrats on the loss!  That's pretty impressive. Cheesy

MoRan - welcome! We just love your little Mikki, and I know we'll grow to love you as well.

If you don't get a bandster to reply to your questions here, please feel free to send a PM to cyndy40. She's a long-time bandster and always willing to help when folks need it.
