Six Weeks out and 32 pounds by my scale - I achieved my first REAL NSV! My wife and I marched into the storm that was Black Friday and while we were shopping at Fayette Mall, she wanted to stop in at JC Penny's and pick up a couple of things. We walked by an area that has UK apparel (thats University of Kentucky). I have never owned any of that stuff because I couldn't fit into a XXL anything. Anyway, she said, honey, why don't you try one on. I grabbed a XXL jacket and it fit. But that is not the NSV. The real victory came when she said "that's too big, here try on this XL". I did and it fit perfectly. I think she was as excited as I was. I not only was able to get a UK Jacket, but skipped completely over the XXL to the XL. The only bad thing is that she won't let me wear it till Christmas cause it just became a christmas present. But I know it's under the tree and I am just too excited to see that I am slowly shedding my fat person uniform!

WooHoo for you!  This is exciting!  I agree with Tammy and Diane!  If you can't wear it now, have the wife go and exchange is for a large.  By Christmas the XL will be too big.  This happened to me with a leather jacket.  We bought it and had it altered.  I only really wore it one season.

The other day I picked up a black t-shirt to put on real quick cause I had company coming over. It seemed a little tighter than usual, but I was in a rush. When my company left, I took it off and looked and it was a 2X. I know that doesn't sound like much, but the last clothes I bought were 4X. Thats my first non scale victory.

My first NSV came today at church.   I've always hated our choir robes.  Besides being made of lovely polyester, they have two bits of Velcro on either side of the neck opening which results in a simple 'peter pan' collar (rounded collar).  Cinching it up on me was almost gagging.  Once in the choir pews, I would just fold the pieces of material inside so that I ended up with a v-neck.  At least that way, I could draw a breath to sing.

Today, 3 weeks out from banding, was my first time back in choir.  I put on the robe and fastened the neck WITH EASE !!!

Praise Be !!

I know the feeling about those choir robes. Ours were the same way, and I dealt with it in exactly the same manner as you did. Luckily we have discontinued useing the robes, except for special services. But I suspect that I will not have any issues with them now. Congrats on your progress so far. Keep it up and keep Freakin' On!
