Hey! Y'all!

Over the past month, my participation hasn't been what it once was here.  I am trying to balance an additional responsiblity, and it is proving to push my limits as far as faith and getting it all together.  After much prayer, I accepted a volunteer position as a Children's Leader with Bible Study Fellowship International. What this means is that I have to get my weekly lesson done, as well as, prepare a lesson for my kiddos.  It is a huge responsibility, but I have been blessed greatly through it already.  Once I get it all figured out, I'll be back me. Also, this week I had a cake to decorate.  For those that don't know, I used to have a small home decorating business. Now, I do cakes when I want -- mainly for friends.
I made the chocolate cake at the end of December for my FIL's birthday.  It is a rich dark chocolate cake, chocolate truffle mix for the icing, dark chocolate band, chocolate/cocoa powder truffles, and candied orange and lemon peels.  So very rich.  One little piece (or bite) will do you!  It took about 20 bars of chocolate to make this.

This is a cake I made for a three-year-old's birthday.  She is adopted from China.  The napkin in the picture is what the Mom gave me to work from for this cake.

e blessed!

Cyndy

I was just wondering today how you were! So glad you posted this.  The cakes or lovely and I'm glad it's something good that's kept you away and not something bad.   Cheesy

Hey sweetie! I've been missing you, but I just assumed that your real life had taken over. And it has - in a very good way! I'm so proud of you for your ministry to those children. You will be such a blessing! Take care of you, the DH, the kiddo, and come see us when you can.

Wow...those look amazing! Nice job; the birthday cake is almost too pretty to eat!

The amazing thing is that I can look at the pictures, note how attractive they look and NOT be suddenly and obsessively thinking about sweets. Now THAT is truly a beautiful thing!

futuresveltemom - you are so right!  I am able to look at those beautiful cakes and first admire their beauty, then the skill and effort it took to make them (cakes are hard!) and THEN.. .I imagine what that chocolate death version smells like...and I float away to heaven.

Thank you for sharing!  Congratulations on this direction that lets you exercise that creative muscle!
