Hi, I'm new to all of this so please bear with me. I'm hoping to meet all my ins. requirements soon and have RNY, in the mean time, for the last 5 days I ended up with a horrible case of the flu. I mean vomiting, diarrhea, fever, you name it. Normally I use gatorade to keep myself hydrated and take aspirin and other things to help with the aches and pains and such. I'm guessing taking care of oneself after RNY is very different. So I'm curious what you do when you get sick. I get a flu shot every year and I guess this year was my turn to die for a few days, what scares me is what kind of plan do you have for a bad sick spell after WLS?? Also, do you wear or carry information that you've had WLS in case you're in an accident?? As a diabetic I wear a bracelet and always carry my list of meds, just in case. Just wondering if WLS info is important like other health issues if you're unable to speak for yourself in an accident situation.
I'd also like to say this is the BEST site for information. I just love Toni and Lynnda and all of you are so kind and caring for one another. The site is smaller than obesity help and so much easier to muddle through and get good information from. I think this will really help me through my journey.
