After continued research I have decided that I really like my intestines where they are currently and am going the VSG route. If the world continues to revolve around my schedule, like it should , then I'm shooting for Apr 22nd and the 29th at the latest It's strange, I was all ready to go with RNY and now I have that inner peace feeling that I'm making the right decision with the sleeve, all my doubts have just fallen away Thank you Tammy (T2) for sharing your experience with me

Good for you!
Having peace about which surgery you choose is sooooo important!
I bounced between RNY and banding for a LONG time!
Good luck!

Congrats for doing the research to find what is right for YOU. I went from looking at lapband, to the sleeve, to RNY, and ended back on the Sleeve, because that is what I felt was best for me. Hang in there, and keep researching!

I started out wanting a band, but when I decided a sleeve would be better, I also felt that feeling of peace. I'm so glad I found out about the sleeve in time!
*Edited because I can't spell, apparently.

Katie! I'm so happy for you and your decision. Everyone's choice is a personal one, and all have their reasons for choosing the surgery they do. I will tell you that the sleevers here at BTV are very supportive, and we'll be happy to "hold your hand" the whole way.
Remember to begin NOW in getting your head in the game. That's the key to making the sleeve work for you. A strong, positive mental attitude will go far in making you very successful.
Let me know if you ever need to talk again - happy to help!
Oh, and I meant to ask - is your insurance paying for the sleeve? So many do not, and I'm always interested to hear when someone gets lucky. Kristen went the Mexico route and had a lovely experience as well. I was fortunate that my insurance paid for mine, but I work for a hospital company, so I was very lucky.
MacMadame - where did you have yours done?

My insurance doesn't cover WLS at all. It's a specified exclusion. I'm using Dr. Umbach in Vegas. I'm so ready to have it done. I know the time will fly by though

Good for you. It wasn't an option on my insurance at the time, but that will likely change somewhere down the road. Hoping your plans go without a snag.

MacMadame - where did you have yours done?
I went to LapSF as a self-pay. They are right in my backyard so I consider myself lucky I didn't have to travel to get them.

My insurance didn't cover any WLS either. I ended up going to Dr. Armando Joya in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. I hope yours is as good - I know it will be
