Tammy - I know I said it a crock pot recipe in my other thread... as it turns out my sis just heated it in a crock for a food feast at work. It's sooo good!! I hope you get a chance to make it!

One Dish Stuffed Cabbage

1 1/2 lbs. ground meat            1 T. Vinegar
5 T. uncooked rice               1 15 oz. can tomato sauce
1 T. brown sugar               1 can tomato soup
1 medium head cabbage            1 can water
1 medium finely chopped onion         salt & pepper to taste

Shred cabbage, place in buttered pan. Brown together meat, onion, salt & pepper. Drain well. Add rice and simmer for 5 minutes. Mix together tomato sauce, tomato soup, water, vinegar & brown sugar. Pour over meat, mix and simmer another 5 minutes. Ladle meat mixture over cabbage. DO NOT STIR

Cover and cook in 350° oven for 2 to 2 1/2 hours

That sounds really really good.

It's not that much rice so it should be okay.

I made this the other day without beef or rice and added some extra veggies - green beans, carrotts - now this is my "free food". If I get the nibbles, I nuke it up and it is barely any calories, but yummy and satisfying. Oh, I also cheated and used slaw mix so I didnt need to cut up anything.

I'm with Ian. I don't do rice at all. But Joni's suggestions are right on. Sounds delish.

Not really "stuffed" cabbage, but a decomp version of it. Great idea.
