So, hooray, I saw my surgeon, Dr. Spitz today.  He feels I'm an excellent candidate for RNY and that I'll do well with the surgery.  Says my diabetes will be gone within a day or two of surgery, TOTAL HOORAY  Cheesy

I took the 567 question computer part of the psych eval today, took about an hour (they said it would take 2, (so hmm, should I have thought those answers through more carefully).  I swear it was the weirdest thing I thing I've ever done and I've done a few weird things in my life.  But those questions were just odd, some of them I wasn't even sure I was reading correctly and I swear the questions repeated themselves about 5 times each or so it felt.

Tomorrow I will get up at 4am, ugh  Huh leave around 5am and be in Spokane for an 8am appt with the doctor part of the psych eval.  I hope they don't put me to sleep cuz I'm not the best early morning person out there - my mind is a blank till around 9 or so.

My case manager at the surgeons says that once they have the eval, and it will take a week or two, then they will submit for approval with my insurance and the next thing will be a call giving me a surgery date, an appt with the NUT and when I start my 2 week liquid diet.  So it's moving right along and I'm really getting excited, but I'm sure it will be about 3 weeks before all approvals are done and in and before I might even have a chance of getting a call.

Now I just have to pray I'm a normal crazy for the psych doc tomorrow, haha Roll Eyes

Good luck!  I know my DH and I both were a little intimidated by the psych eval... what if we're really REALLY crazy?  Not just the good kind?  Ah, well... I'm not sure the psych wasn't, but we were fine and you will be too.  He did recommend going to lots of support group meetings... and he was right.  Support is critical.  I am so thankful for BTV.   Grin

Hi Kim, seems like every doc does the whole fasting thing differently.  My doc goes by BMI.  If your BMI is under 50 it's a 2 week fast, if between 50 and 60 it's a 4 week fast and over 60 is a 6 week fast.  Not sure why it seems to be different from doc to doc, but I'm sure glad I only have to do 2 weeks.  It doesn't sound like a lot of fun.
