All right, peeps - thought you might like to see what an artist my plastic surgeon really is. No one really knew how bad my arms were, but these pics show it. One of the nurses took the before pics - Mom took the after pics about 5 days post-op. As you can see, I was still really bruised, swollen, and scabbed - but it's the result that counts! The surgeon removed much of the scabbiness, adhesive skin, and stitches today, and they're looking much better. Still have a few stitches to remove on my next post-op on Dec 10.

I really admire those of you who have done the plastics - this is not for wimps! While I feel that I have done very well (went back to work at 1-week post-op), I will admit that there is much pain, discomfort, and weariness that go along with it. You must be sure that you are resolved to do this, and keep your eyes on the prize. It's a very tough battle, but well worth the reward.

One final note - I didn't share with everyone that besides my arms, I also had the "pooches" above my bra line removed. I had breast reduction way back in 1995 (down from 42EE to 38B), and the surgeon used those scars to do the lipo there. I did not realize that I would have large cuts there, though. Besides my arm scars, I am also cut from below my breasts (just under the nipple) all the way around to just under my shoulder blades. Those scars actually were much more difficult to deal with than my arm scars. But as you can see, well worth the effort. Will now be able to get custom fitted for some nice new lingerie! Still under compression for 2 more weeks, then just waiting on scar healing. Next summer should be a whole new world for me!

Thanks for your prayers, your support, your texts and emails, FB posts - well, just thanks for your friendship. I would never have made it this far without you!

I'm standing up and cheering for you honey!!! I know exactly what you went through as I did it a year ago. You know I did my breast lift the same time as my arms, but my arms hurt me the worst.

I am amazed that you were able to go back to work after only a week, my God girl I was down for a month or more!!

You are very strong darlin.  Grin

Patti - these things are such an individual journey, you know? Much like WLS. If I get arms that look like yours, it will all be worth it.

Keilah - yes, the dr's office takes "after" pics at 6 months out, which will certainly show a difference. I'll post those when they take them. I'm anxious to see those, too!

Thanks, Cyndi, Ian, and Brandy - your support means so much to me!

I must admit, Tammy, that your post puts the fear of God into me as I consider plastics for the future!  But thank you for being honest.  It sounds pretty rough right now, but I do think you will be happy with the results as the pictures only 5 days out are amazing!

Good on you for making it through.

What a difference and wowzer it looks great for only being a few days after surgery - I really thought it would look a lot worse.  That is amazing.  So glad you are pleased with the results and can strut your stuff in tons of sleeveless tops as soon as the weather warms up!!

Kristi - don't give up on it just yet. Yes, I'm still very sore and stiff, but my arms look amazing. You gotta keep your eyes on the prize. Wait until 6 months out when I post my "real" after pics made by my surgeon. Then you'll see how much it's worth it. (And so will I!)

Melissa - hey girl! I've missed you! Hope you're doing really great. You look amazing.

Tammy - thanks. I cannot WAIT for summer! That will be my ultimate reward.

You are amazing and strong.  I am proud of you!

I am so glad you are happy with the results so soon!  You're right - we'll have to wait for the 6 month mark to really see the results!

OMG, your arms look great and not even fully healed.  WOW!  I am thrilled for you.

It's still too soon for me, but my arms bug me so bad.  Not, sure if surgery will be an option when the time comes.  But, it's the main procedure I want.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Went to try on bridesmaids dresses on Saturday with one of my friends who is getting married in May. It's a halter top dress, and there was NO shame in trying it on! My arms looked great! This is just so exciting and worth all the pain and discomfort. Still healing, but feeling more confident every day. Thanks so much for all of your kind posts! More pics to come later on after more healing occurs.

Tammy you are a brave lady.  I know I will need to get my belly done when I have been at goal a while and stabilized, but don't know if I will ever muster the courage for the recovery.  Congrats, looks like the results will be what you hoped for.
