Toni - if you don't get any long-timers to join you here, you would be an inspiration to us over on the regular WDYE thread. We want to see you succeed, and we'll be your biggest cheerleaders!

I'm not sure where I should be posting now....I've just announced that I'm happy to admit I'm maintaining, over on the WDYE thread......but this thread is in the "are you gaining weight?",  section, which, I'm not (cross fingers!). Smiley

Sometimes I feel bad posting some of the goodies I've eaten, which would be a bad idea if I was actually tring to lose weight......so......which thread?

WDYET is What did you Eat today.

I would like to keep this in Long Term maintenance for a few reasons...if you guys don't mind me explaining.

1-2 years old...honeymoon baby...really.

2-4 years out...maintenance isn't too hard.  You are still looking into your issues, still paying close attention to what you eat, still loving your new body.

5+ years...I claim is a whole new ball park that has special needs and I need them addressed by other LONG TERMers.

I eat pretty much the same that I have for the last 5 years.....I maintained my weight really well. I hit that 5 year mark and suddenly...I'm gaining weight.  Why is that? Am I exercising less? I don't think so...Am I eating more? probably but I don't eat anywhere near what I used to before surgery.  I'm following the rules.  Vitamins, water, protien.

But I do think your body changes and adapts.

Could it be my weight gain is just a seasonal thing? I always did tend to gain weight more during the winter, and lose it some during the spring and fall.

Is it my age?  I've entered my 40's and things do tend to slow down. I need to figure out what I can do to balance this.

I need to figure this out.

My plan is to write down what I'm eating to see if it's really is more then I used to and that the fact that I don't journal it like I used to is effecting me.

If it's pretty obvious that's its not what I'm eating, my next plan is to talk to my doctor. But I need good proof that I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing.

Sound reasoning! Had lunch with a friend yesterday who has never had a weight problem, but she really fights to keep hers down. She has been an inspiration to me as I begin maintenance on myself. She also mentioned her "winter weight gain" so some of it is seasonal for her. However, she was recently diagnosed with an overactive thyroid, which also plays a big part. Smart of you to keep a close eye on everything that could contribute, and great that you are attacking it early before it gets away from you.

GO, TONI!!!

We'll pop by occasionally for cheerleading and support for you, as well as to stay posted on what you find out.

Hey girlie ... I just saw this post.. Seriously right now my menu wouldn't help at all.. I am all hopped up on codeine and can barely get around so I am not eating much..

Example:

Breakfast - Believe protein drink

Lunch - two pepper jack cheese sticks

Dinner - Banana - cuz my foot was cramping up.

That is it.. Seriously.. NO appetite..

I need to do better!
