I have never been an athlete and could never run just a short distance. In fact, my freshman year in High School, I was almost replaced in my spot in Marching Band due to my weight (about 250), and my inability to moved as quickly as needed in some instances. Anywho, I digress. With 123 lbs off of me, and my body able to moved as it was created to, I began running six months post-op. This translates to three years ago. My love for running has become a passion, one I thought I would never see! In the past month, I have run in two 5K races. The first, I placed 10th in my age division in 325 in the overall race (over 1,000 runners). Two weekends ago, was my second race in two weeks. I placed 7th in my age division and 178 in the overall standings (313 runners in all). I am now training for a 10K in late August (depending on heat in TX), and the Princess Half in February. I owe this all to my Creator, who, have given me a second chance at health. A'int nothing better than 6.5 year old arms wrapping all the way around your waist with arms to spare!
