My name is scott and I am having rny on the 10 of august. I am in my first of 2 weeks of optifast and am struggling. Have to keep a positive attitude and keep an eye on the light at the end of the tunnel (PRAYING IT IS NOT A TRAIN). I have a 3 and a 6 year  to keep me very busy. I am currently working towards my engineering degree. So hello to all the FREAKS and look forward to some good info.    Scott

Welcome aboard Scott!

If they allow sugar free Jello and protein shakes try adding that plus more h20 to help fill you up

Welcome Scott.  Don't get discouraged, the first few days of the liquid diet are tough and you feel just zapped of energy, it should start to turn around for you and become easier.  Keep your eye on the prize!!

Welcome from a fellow central Ohio person. Literally, I live in the geographic center of the state in Centerburg. Cool
Had my surgery in Columbus at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
You will find this to be a really nice group of folks and you will learn a lot.

Hi Scott,

I live in Canton, and had my surgery at St. Vincent's....Dr. Ben-Meir is AWESOME! St. Vincent's is a very nice facility...I had to stay an extra 3 days due to a minor complication..so I know! lol

I didn't have to do the pre-op diet, but I have been on liquid diets in the past...just keep yourself busy, it'll be here before you know it!

My surgery was at St. Vincent's too. I agree - Dr. Ben-Meir is awesome! The nurses who took care of me were great too!
I hope you get to stay in the newer surgery wing - it's like you're staying in a hotel. Well... except for the morphine pump & such... Grin

I didn't have to do a liquid diet either - but it'll be over before you know it.
Best of luck with your surgery Scott! Your new life starts in 7 more days!

Hello and welcome Scott. Hang in there. It's so much easier on the other side to follow the program and it won't be long now. The more your liver shrinks the better for surgery.  Hugs.  Cheesy

Thank you everyone for the support. I has been a hard week. This crappy optifast Cry, sudden death of a  friend, finals in school all have made for a tough week to try to keep to a diet. I really appreciate all the support. I will be so happy to just get it going. Thanks Scott
