Just joking, I could NEVER compete with you.  However, I got a new bike.  I have had back problems for years and still suffer with 4 bulging discs.  I also have carpel tunnel syndrome in both wrists.  The leaning forward position and the weight on the wrists of riding a regular bike doesn't work for me.  So, look what I got...

I ordered the red one like in the pic, but they sent me silver.  Were they trying to tell me something? LOL

Anyway, hubby put it all together and we are going riding when he gets home from work this morning.  YAY

We rode a mile this morning. It was awesome!.  I felt no strain whatsoever in my back. I felt like I could do more, but didn't want to over do it and then not be able to get back on.  I have made that mistake all to often over the years.  The bike got some attention too, LOL.  People on my street were taking a 2nd look and waving, it was a blast.

After we did our ride, we hit the pool for an hour. So refreshing after the ride.  This will be our 10th straight day of triple digit temperatures, YUK.

Maddie that is a super awesome looking bike!  Don't envy you those triple digit temps, although I did have a friend who lived in Dallas for awhile and absolutely adored living there.

Hey, some guy did Race Across Oregon in a recumbent. So hard core biking could still be in your future.  Wink

I ordered from Amazon.  One thing was the price, at most bike shops they were much more pricey.  If you should order one like mine, I recommend the 20" wheels not the 16".  I got the 20" and I can tell that the other wouldn't have worked for me well.

Awsome bike!!! I would like to get a new bike for next spring. Since it's been a month, how do you like the new bike? Pro's & Con's? Thanks.

Kristen,

I still LOVE it.  I guess it depends where you plan on riding as to what you would look for.  For instance, it only has one gear.  But, I only ride in my neighborhood and so it's not an issue. (no inclines)

The biggest pro would be that I can get outside and exercise without strain on my lower back.  It's great to have an option.  When I can't get out and walk due to my back, I can always ride.

Hubby got a vintage looking regular Huffy and he rides with me first thing in the morning when he gets home from working graveyard shift.
