Hi I use the name Myshadow because I want to see it go smaller and smaller till there is none of me at all. I am post op 3 weeks and have only lost 17lbs ONLY, I am disappointed, I have been sick and nauseated I am only drinking about 40 ounces of water daily and today I got two smalle meals in without getting sick. So I found this forum and thought I would be able to learn a lot. How do I get the water in?? Cool

You're upset at losing 5lbs a week?

You actually put weight on with the surgery as they pump you full of fluids and can come home 5-20lbs heavier than when you went under the knife..........

I used the following to help me get all my fluids in as a baby-freak:

SF popsicles
Snow Cone Maker with SF syrups
Isopure RTD's

I also used a digital cooking timer and my watch to remind me to drink every 15, 10 or 5 minutes for my first six weeks and it worked like a charm.

I gained 10lbs in the hospital, but I have a friend who has lost 70lbs in two months and he is doing great I guess I thought the first month would show around 30lbs I am being hard on myself almost everyone lost so much the first month, I guess that would be a good question. Thank you soo much about things to do to get the fluids in I love the timer and will start tomorrow. Grin

Also remember that men lose weight faster than men.  Like comparing apples and oranges when it comes to weight loss.  In the end you will both end up looking fab!!!!  Take your time, play by the rules and focus on you!!  Best of luck!

Hey Linda,

Welcome to the show!! As for comparing your weight loss to others, we've done a show on that. Here's the link...

http://bariatrictv.com/weightlossurgeryvideos/2009/09/17/episode-46-wanna-get-knocked-up/

Give it a look as it may help answer some of the questions you have.  Also it is so common for folks to stall at 3 to 4 weeks. I can't tell you how many posts we've had on this. Just keep plugging along and following the rules dear, I can guarantee you that you will continue to lose.

Hello Linda!  Cheesy

Don't be too discouraged.  Men do tend to drop their weight like crazy, but we can catch up down the line. I only lost 20 pounds the first month and 60 by six months, but although I really wished that it would all melt away like butter in a hot skillet, at least a significant portion of it is gone!  I think you are going to do great, but I sure can relate to the disappointment in not seeing it go faster.   Wink

Hi there and welcome..

What everyone else has said.. don't compare yourself to the men.. they lose like fiends and make us women jealous.. :-)

Everyone loses at their own rate.. Everyone experiences stalls..  Totally normal.. gotta look at the big picture.. you are losing vs gaining and this time next year you will look back and be a totally different person.  Take lots of pics each week/month.. measurements, etc.. You will be amazed.
