Hey, I did an open water swim race today and I actually finished on the podium in the 2 mile race. I was 1st out of 1 person in the Female 50-54 age group. Haha.

But it was fun. I was 4/5 in my age group for the 1 miler but I had a goal to swim the 1 mile faster than the 2 mile race even though I had just finished the 2 mile race. And I did. So I was happy about that too.

Plus the award was a kickass pair of goggles.

YEAH!!  I am not a competitor, sports-wise, but I love the feeling hitting or surpassing a goal give you.  Good Job!!

That's fantastic MacMadame!

Y'know, when I was losing weight, I was so motivated to run. I loved it. But I always did it solo.
I wish I could catch a little of your competitive spirit to get me going again  Roll Eyes

Yesterday I did another race and was really happy with my bike time. It was much shorter than I expected.  Grin

I like to do things with groups so I joined a triathlon club and I do their group workouts. Maybe there is a running club in your area you could join. It's harder for me to skip workouts if they start at a specific time.
