Hello, My name is Susan, and I am having VSG in a couple of weeks. Several weeks ago I received the final approval from my insurance company and got scheduled for Monday, April 11, 2011; it is coming so fast! Yesterday the hospital called to preregister me and get a deposit. Next Monday I start a two week liquid liver reducing diet to help get me ready for surgery, and Tuesday I do the pre-op blood work.
I am both excited and nervous about this. I have been reading books and talking with people I know that have had gastric bypass and LapBand, but I don't know anyone that has had the sleeve. My family is very supportive, but none of them has had WLS. Reading some of the prior posts here has been really helpful. I hope to get to know some of you on the boards throughout this journey.

Your surgery date will be here before you know it. One of the things that made me join the board was that there are forums for all of the surgery types, not just the band or bypass. We're all walking the same path, but it helps to compare the nuances with those who've had a similar surgery.

Welcome! Search the forum for some great tips on what to take with you to the hospital, as the day will be here before you know it! IMHO You've made a great decision! (I may be biased...  ) Jen |

Time will definitely fly by. Slightly over a year, I changed my insurance just in order to have the surgery. and now, today was my first post-op appointment.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you.
