This Sunday, I am walking a 5K. I am determined to finish it. I know it's not a long way for a lot of people, but at 374 pounds, it's long for me. I will go slow and I will finish! Hubby is walking with me, yay!

Congrats!
Remember to listen to your body though and don't push too hard if it tells you otherwise

You do a freak proud!
Slow and steady...you can do this! 5k is significant. Don't underestimate the value of what you are trying to accomplish. The very fact that you are trying is a huge win, in my estimation.

Thanks you guys! I always appreciate the encouragement. The walk it at 9 a.m. on a marina, so it should be nice and cool. I will not overdo it. (I'll tell you a secret about this walk tomorrow after I finish it.) Jenni

I am walking my 3rd one tomorrow, who'da thunk it! Just remember, slow and steady, for you it isn't a race, just a goal to achieve and you will do fine. We'll have to meet here tomorrow and compare notes. My walk is a fund raiser for lung cancer and I am walking in memory of my Mom who died of lung cancer in 1987.

SF Mini, what a great way to honor your mom. I wanted to do the fundraising walk for Best Buddies this year, but missed it. You are right, this is SO not a race for me, but it will feel great to cross the finish line. Have a great time tomorrow, I'll post when I get back! Jenni

This is great! Next year you'll be out there running a 5K (:
And 3.1 miles is still 3.1 miles that you are moving your body! Way to go!

I finished it! Now I will tell you a secret. Last year I signed up for the 5K Challenge and only made it one mile. This year I've been exercising a little more, and eating better. It was still very very hard. It took me two hours to finish. Hubby supported me and encouraged me all the way. I was really happy when I finished!
