My family (with Eden in my belly)

I am in the STL area and have narrowed my choices between two places to do my WLS.
The first place is an actual facility (St.AlexiusNewStart) they are pretty large
The second place is a smaller practice/facility and there is a patient fee ($200) that is not covered by insurance but it helps with some of the perks you receive from them.

My question is- did you go through a large weight loss facility or a smaller practice/facility for your surgery?

I am making pro's and con's list and am pretty even with the two. Just like to hear what kind of facility you chose and why.

I was more interested in the surgeon than the size of the practice. I did have some requirements such as a way to get in touch with them 24/7 but my practice only had 2 surgeons and they had that while some of the bigger practices don't.

Anyway, I wanted someone who had done a LOT of my type of surgery and who had an excellent track record with a very low complication rate and a high success rate.

I picked mine based on the surgeon. She was highly recommended and with good reason. She's fabulous.  It was a large hospital, but a small surgeon's office. Now she's heading the program at another local hospital, but I'm following her.
