Hey guys and gals,

I'm from MA and am looking to find a surgeon that can remove my Lapband and then perform RNY, hopefully all in one surgery.  I went to Salem Hospital in MA for my original surgery about 3 years ago and would like to avoid going back there as I don't care much for the place.  Anyone local have any suggestions or opinions of places they went?  I feel like I don't even know where to begin for looking!

Also, anyone know anywhere I can look for a listing of local bariatric doctors?

Hi Kellie,

I found my surgeon through my insurance company.
From what I have heard, She has done the procedure you are looking for.
Are you still looking?

Hello,

Westminster Mass here. My primary sent me to Umass Medical Center in Worc. Mass. Dr. Cohen was an amazing and well rated doctor whom performed my surgery. They have a great training program prior to surgery and amazing care team after.

Hello fellow Massholes Smiley  I ended up finding a surgeon through my insurance.  It's Dr Hutter at Mass General.  I've been working with them for about 3 months now, and everyone there is so great.  I got my surgery date of March 27th!  I'm very excited to transition over to RNY.  I'll let you know how it all goes.

Yes. Good thing you found someone. I would have suggested my surgeon but he is retiring in two months. I love the practice. It is at Newton Wellesley Hospital. You would have to travel Route 128 which is next to he double LL for me.
I grew up when they were constructing 128!
