We have a great WLS support group in Kamloops BC. We meet every 3rd Wednesday of a month. Newbies, pre-ops, post-ops and long timers all get together to share successes, and positive support for all levels.

Is your an online support group in Kamloops or do you have to attend?  I live in Colville, WA (just over the border from Trail) so it would be a little far to travel.  I'm going to get my WLS from Rockwood in Spokane but have no support group lined up yet.  They do have a support group every month but I'd have to drive to Spokane which is okay if needed.  I'm looking for options.  I'm about 5-6 months out for the surgery at this point.

Hi - Kristi I haven't heard of a Calgary group, but a I will ask Sharon if she has any connections.

Hi - Moosdrul our group meets in person once a month, but not much online activity. We are 4 hours north east of Vancouver so I can't imagine it would be convenient to drop in once a month Smiley

Current member are either on BTV.com or a "local" WLS support website similar to BTV based out of Victoria, BC at http://www.blazeonline.com/wls/

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery - those five months will fly by!

Have either tried to locate a WLS meet up group through Facebook or Yahoo groups?

We live about 3.5 to 4 hr drive to Kamloops.  We're just over the border from Trail or about 95 miles driving north of Spokane.  However it wouldn't be close enough.  There are groups in Spokane that Rockwood has suggested but not much online that I have seen yet.  When we get home in the spring I'll nail something down.  BTV is the best, just looking for a little local flavor as a supplement.  It is a requirement that I attend some of the meetings in Spokane, not sure how many which is about 2.5 hr drive for us.

We get up your way from time to time, I'll have to try and find out when your meeting is if the timing is right.
