Just yesterday, i began with itchies everywhere. from my scalp down to the bottom of my feet. Today it is a crazy break out of hives.... Did any one else have an allergic reaction?

My allergies have really picked up since surgery. I will take an anti-histamine fairly often when it really starts getting to me. Tonight is one of those nights. My eyes are so itchy and red and make me look aweful!

In the first couple of weeks after surgery, I itched EVERYWHERE! it was awful. Finally, I took some Benedril and a nice nap and it went away. Someone said it was a reaction to the anesthesia. I have no idea but it was cruddy!

Thank you for sharing everyone!
the only thing i can think of is i put lotion for the first time since the surgery, but its the same lotion i have been using. I also added cardamon to my cream of wheat.
one of my friends, stated that she too had hives due to a brazillian oil she was using. Hives got so bad that i ended up at the doc's office with an IV and steroids. Hopefully it will clear within the next couple of days. This is killing me!!

My hubby gets hives when his body is stressed. With the weight loss that may be part of it. After his WLS he had hives on and off for a few months and then it stopped. Good luck

I was itchy after surgery because the low fat diet made my skin dry and also because healing can sometimes make you itch. But my allergies actually got much better after surgery especially as I lost weight!

Since my surgery, I'm allergic to Dial soap and BioOil. Hives from head to toe. I nearly scratched my skin off after I got home from my surgery. My Hubby decided washing my belly with his Dial soap was a good idea since it is antibacterial. Not a good idea.

So as it turns out after months of trying to figure out my breakout, went to an allergist and he named my condition DERMOGRAPHISM - means skin writing. I can literally write HI on my forearm and a couple of minutes later the word shows up on my skin. The cause is unknown. I am not to happy about this but at least i have a name for it. It is now controlled by taking Claritin everyday.... thanks everyone!
