Hi Peeps! Well, I'm back from Barbados......it was warm and sunny....and rainy and full of mosquitoes...a little fun, but a lot that was not fun....not my kinda place and I'm glad to be home. So, I've really missed you folks and decided to start posting here again. My weight has crept up to 147 (it was higher, but I'm sure that was aeroplane swell), my happy range is 138 to 142, sooooo I need to focus on staying on plan - no panicking or starving and bingeing here, just gonna stick to plan - we know it works! I could really do with a strike of motivation for MMA.... I was having some success with my sleeping routine before the hol, but with travelling and time changes I'm completly back at square one (awake all night, no sleep or asleep all day). I'm using a full spectrum light in the morning and a 5HTP supplement 3/4 hr before bed, it's only been a couple of days, so too early to report any progress. Today's plan: 2 scrambled eggs. Tuna mayo and salad on 2 ryvita. 1 apple, 1 banana Haddock, braised beef and mushrooms, broccoli, carrots MIAM - spread with 1 tsp lemon curd - made with egg, baking powder, flax, protein powder and cornmeal - I like this texture much better and less flax = no gas issues. Vits, water, ex - yes, yes, no.

Hey Diane! Welcome back. Tropical islands sound really good to me right about now... but I am having sleep issues too and I had them my whole holiday. Ultramet Low Carb protein shake Pure protein jello Dry roasted edamame Spinach shirataki with tuna, cream of celery and peas/carrots - my own homemade tuna casserole Dinner TBD - just finished my lunch because I made a big batch... Vitamins: most, Fluids: working, Exercise: probably not unless it is late - I have an appointment this afternoon and have to go to the bank this morning so I might get in a 15 minute walk, but I am also going to try to go see my father tonight. I am overdue as he pleasantly reminded me over the weekend by saying my step-brother had left me a Christmas gift there, but I wouldn't need it come summer.

Welcome back Diane! Sorry that your vacation did not live up to expectations.
We are all working on getting back on track.
1 cup of reg coffee with SF creamer double prot drink 1 cup of reg coffee without creamer powerade zero and crystal lite and water and sparkling water
After that I am not planned. I did something stupid last night, by accident. I used to take Clairitn D for sinus issues to reduce the frequency of sinus infections. Stopped when my BP level indicated I should not be taking it. It always made me drowsy. I bought some generic/non drowsey and waited till last night to take it. Well I may have gotten 2 hours sleep at the most. It wired me tight and I am sure I will be hitting a wall before lunch, but have to keep going till about 8. I see a 5-hr energy drink in my immediate future. So my goal has gone from getting a lot of progress made, to just maintaining today. But, I will not let this melt down into a carb-fest.
lunch will probably be a meat and cheese salad from the lunch room with ranch I have ostrim, seaweed snacks, cheese sticks, RTD and a bar so if I have to snack, I have "legal" stuff. Dinner will be a RTD, a tylenol PM and my bed.
supps and fluids will be fine, exercise may be necessary to keep from falling asleep, lol

Paula, the same thing happened to me with my antihistamine! The pharmacist insisted that they NEVER heard of it keeping anyone awake, only that they make people drowsy, but I read on my packet that they can cause "sleep disturbances" which, I suppose could mean that they can keep you awake - anyway, I changed to one of the old style antihistamines that are known to cause drowsiness (Phenergan - contains promithazine) and that helped, at first they left me really groggy the next day so I took them around 6pm so that the grogginess would be gone by about 8am next day.... I wonder if it has to do with our bodies being more sensitive after WLS?

Not sure but something sure has changed. It did really help with the sinus issues though so tomorrow morning I am going to try it again but only 1/2 a tablet. If that does not go well, I only bought a 5-pkt and the rest will hit the trash.

Big hugs, sweet Di! Girl, I've really missed you! I must have missed that you were heading to Barbados - sorry it wasn't all it was cracked up to be, but I'm glad you had the experience. From the looks of your menu, you'll be back on track in no time. Hope the spectrum light and the 5HTP continue to do their job for you!
Paula - my Mom can't take much of anything for her sinuses - they work exactly the opposite on her system, and it sounds like you're the same. Nyquil makes her climb the walls! But it knocks me on my butt!
Keilah - OK, I've avoided the shirataki due to comments on its smell and texture - but tuna noodle casserole sounds so comforting and delish right now! Especially since I'm now avoiding that pack of Dreamfields in my pantry after David's article. LOL! Should I? Where do you get yours?
B: Scrambled eggs and bacon - and I also had 1/2 English muffin with some peanut butter - I was hungry! But I'm not now! S: Nada L: Chicken salad S: Nada D: I don't know! I'm not feeling like cooking right now, so every night has been a crap shoot. Will report later.
Vits, water, exercise - yes, yes, and no

My daughter loves the Shiritaki noodles! I have yet to try them because of all the reasons that Tammy said, but April adores them! She gets them at Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and some grocery stores around here. We have a large Asian population here in Northern California so we have lots of Asian food sections in our grocery stores. They are so low fat, low carb, etc...but I am AFRAID!!!!

I like them - and have even had them plain. The other day I put cinnamon and splenda in it with a little butter flavored spray and liked that too! It was the miracle rice version though - little balls. They are good in pudding in place of tapioca too. I like them most because I'm always freaking hungry and I can eat a big bunch without too much guilt. Leslie, I'd wait a bit if I were you - you're still very new. The pouch grows over the year though, so you'll gradually be able to eat more without as many issues most likely. Make good use of the honeymoon period! It's a bear the second and third years. Well, for me anyway. I wish I was like Ian, bless him. But I've been hungry since the beginning. Still working on finding all my nasty binge triggers too.
