So far today...

4 baby carrots
1 cup grits w/butter (is there any other way-LOL!)
Peanut butter burrito
1 maderine orange cup

Dinner will be sweet and sour chicken with just a touch of brown rice (for authenticity Smiley ) and another orange cup for dessert!!

Have only had 52oz of coffee so far and have now switched to some green tea.. Still has caffeine, but no creamer!

Hey peeps. Down with a migraine yesterday, but on the plus side, my scale is down because I didn't feel like eating. LOL!

Funny on the grits - I pulled out my stoneground bag yesterday and thought, "I need to cook some of these." Smiley

B: Sausage & cheese quiche
S: Nada
L: Chicken salad from a local restaurant that's courting our business
S: Nada
D: My homemade white chicken chili

Vits, water, exercise - yes, yes, and no - gonna hold off another day until I feel better

We do grits with Splenda and butter... Took us a while though to try it... Carb-a-phobia... LOL!

Now it is maybe once a month we enjoy it... IF we aren't driving... Water in the micro as we are bouncing down the road just doesn't work to well :/

It's really tough Paula and sadly I could down them too, just as easily. They're almost liquid in their consistency.   Undecided Reboot and start again... it happens to the best of us.

And slap Gary for being such a bad influence!! Doesn't he know he could have easily gotten a grilled chicken sandwich or salad instead? Shame!

I'm just kidding! I had fish fillets out of the frozen box last week. LOL!!!

Oh, have to post this! I read the other day that the double cheese burger at McD's has less calories and fat than the McChicken Grilled sandwich! I was shocked. Turns out the whole wheat bun has 240 cals just by itself - plus the mayo. So, it you want to have a healthier chicken sandwich, hold the mayo and ask for the regular hamburger bun - that way has almost 24o calories less than the burger!

Also, I was surprised to read that almond milk has only one gram of protein per cup. I thought that everyone here was having it because it was high in protein and calcium. Regular skim/1% milk is a much better deal - 7-8 g protein per cup and high in calcium and vitamin D, which helps the protein be absorbed. Remember, the lower the fat, the higher the protein and calcium, lower the calories.

Just interesting, I thought...

Hey folks!
Leslie, you are correct about the nutrition in the various milks, just thought I'd mention that you need to watch the sugar....lower fat milk has more (naturally occuring) sugar, and can make you dump if you drink too much. In fact, that is what I drink to get me out of a hypo! One reason some of us WLS peeps avoid cows milk after surgery is that it is common for us to become lactose intolerant....temporarily or permanently.

Today's food went like this:
B: 2 scrambled eggs
L: "Beans on toast" - h/m baked beans, soda bread (yeast free, not wheat free), 1 oz edam cheese.
S: Toasted soda bread, fat free cottage cheese.
D: Grilled coley (white fish), h/m beans, garlic mushrooms....and yes, more soda bread....oops!
S: 3 scrambled eggs with cheese.
Vits, water, ex - yes, yes, nope. Was working until 7pm, in deep concentration and didn't even notice that I was FREEZING cold..

I drink the Sugar Free Almond milk because it's lower calorie and lower carb, not because of the protein. At 3 years plus, I never have trouble getting in enough protein.  I have trouble keeping my calories low enough not to gain and darn it I still want to lose some.  Embarrassed

Leslie - I'm sure you are correct - it's the mayo on the grilled chicken sandwiches that are a big calorie culprit. I always get mine without, and add mustard. And I never eat the bun - that's just extra carbs I don't need.

I find nutrition so fascinating! I wonder why people become Lactose intolerent? I was as a baby but out grew it. My daughter has been all her life but she finds that the lower fat milks are the only ones she can have. Interesting...

I love mayo, especially Best Foods (Hellman's to you Easterners) but it just has no place in a weight loss diet...too bad...sigh...I just couldn't believe the bun had so many calories! Crazy madness!
