mine just occurred last week on a trip...last fall I was a size 24 and could not latch the seat belt on one of the flights I was on. I would not ask for an extender...I was uncomfortable, hot, sweaty, and miserable. Last week, not only was I able to fasten the seat belt, I had more than enough room to snug it up. THEN the tray table actually went all the way down AND I could pull it close to me! I thought I was going to cry...what a thrill to feel "normal"...from a size 24 to 14 since the last trip in November...it's almost too good to be true!

That is so awesome! I can't wait to fly again, I always hoped I could pull the tray down and actually put a drink on it. I drove past a six flags last week and thought, maybe I could go there and fit on rides now? Makes me want to cry too. I was also a 24 and I'm a 16 now... Literally 6 months later. Weird. Happened so fast I am left shell shocked! Great NSV! Thanks for sharing.

Airplane NSVs are very powerful. I don't think I will ever forget the day the tray table folded all the way down. I lower them all the time now just because I can!

My favorite NSV has to be...
when my 9 year old son hugged me and realized for the first time that he could get his arms all the way around me. He was so excited that he could grab his hands! This was a first for him and first for me!

Since I just posted on my airplane NSV - I can chime in and say - the biggest NSV was the in arm try table - when I flew to HI in Jan before my surgery - the table was on a 35 degree angle and I had to use the salad dressing to prevent the meal from sliding off to the floor - Being able to lower it and eat food on it with it NOT being in the way was one of the BEST feelings in the world.
Another recent NSV that I had not realized till recently (though I'm sure it happened a while ago) - the steering wheel on my car no longer rubs against my tummy! I found a pair of old pants that were actually worn out at the place where the wheel ran across it - That was a good feeling.
And of course fitting back into old cloths (I kept most of mine) - so I'm rediscovering old clothes - I'm also beginning to pack up the 3X stuff and will make the run to the goodwill in the near future

Last night, I took a bath in my tub (with bubbles) for the first time years - I fit!!! Of course, due to knee problems, my husband had to winch me out but that's besides the point.

Hahahahaha! This was definitely a wonderful NSV. I have an over sized tub in one of my bathrooms I could fit into but out of curiosity last month I drew a bath in my small bathroom and almost cried when I could move around comfortably. It's the little things like that that make it worth while.

That is too adorable! I had a goal to be able to sit on the floor with my knees to my chest and be abled to wrap my arms around my legs. Weird goal but I'm almost there. Ha!

Odd one for you - I have no clothes left in my closet that were there for when " I lost all that weight". I am smaller than ALL of them! Some were 20 years old too :-) into the "never again" pile they go, soon to be sent to charity Odd for me cause I feel a loss there... Odd. Can't describe it.

Well I don't know about favorite but I love that I can do my toe nails with out feeling like I ran a combination marathon and contortionist routine.
My boy did say to me the other day " some day soon I'm going to be bigger than you" I said of course he replied " no really you are so much smaller than you used to be I didn't think I would".

I loved being able to fly more comfortably, but one of my favorites is being able to ride a horse again. I was too heavy for so long that there was no where I could ride and I would've felt like I was punishing the animal if I had anyway.

So I'm about 6 weeks post-op, and I was saying good morning to the parental figures. Mom found out that, surprise! She can fit her arms all the way around me now and touch hands behind my back! So then my Dad tried and did the same

Last week while working on something I had my face pressed against my hand. It felt weird. Couldn't figure out what was so strange...Something on my face felt hard - and my hand had no problem supporting it. So there I am - rubbing my face throughout the day and then it dawned on me...I was feeling my cheek bone! Also - my son was giving me a back rub. He usually just goes to town on me, but this time he was being very careful. Finally, he stops and asks "Daddy - what's THIS!" ...He had his hands on my shoulder. Not my usual fat covered shoulder - but my actual shoulder bone. Poor thing thought he'd hurt me!

I also recently starting running one mile on the local high school track. I hadn't run at all since hurting a knee 17 years ago. It was rather EASY - and I felt so good.
I also refurbished an old mountain bike and last week went on my first bike ride in 15 years. That feeling of riding - with the wind in my face - was so fantastic. It was like I was a kid again!

I love hearing about all these special things...running, biking, horseback riding... I haven't been on a horse since I was a kid...last year there was a groupon for riding lessons, but I was 30 pounds over the limit...now I am 55 pounds UNDER the limit! I see a riding lesson in my future...

I've read this thread for a while, and found it difficult to think of anything that stood out for me, there were so many wonderful NSV's, but this morning I suddenly remembered - LONG BOOTS! I love, love, love long boots. I now have.....erm, quite a few pairs, lol.
