All,
Well, I made it to the Losers Bench and I'm here to stay.  I am 1 week out today, and feeling pretty good.  My RNY and recovery went very well, manageable pain, no nausea (Thank God!).  I was released on Friday, and have been taking it easy on the couch, and at this point, only the larger incision on my left side is giving me pain, but nothing bad.  I guess I've been one of the lucky ones and have had, so far, a blessedly smooth recovery.  I like everyone else am struggling to get all my liquids, vitamins, and proteins in, nothing I didn't expect because of all the of you out there!  I am down 8 pounds since surgery, which I wasn't expecting, so that's really nice!

I got out of the house for the first time yesterday, to go of all places, to my first appointment with my new PCP!  Boy was she shocked when I told her what was going on with me!  But she was very supportive, unlike my old PCP, and I think she will work out nicely.  Anyway, thanks everyone for the well wishes and support!

Congratulations!  Remember the best medicine is walk, walk, walk, and sip, sip, sip.  Of course, follow your doctor's orders first and foremost!

Congrats - glad it went well - I would echo walk - try doing 10 min at first and build up to 30.  It really helps the healing!
