I'm going to be a diamond, some day...

« on: July 02, 2012, 04:54:21 AM »

Good morning! And welcome to the 4th of July week. Not sure if Indianapolis will have the big fireworks show this year since we're kind of having a drought, but we have had a few sprinkles of rain, so I'm hopeful.

Oh, and I decided that if I get extra hungry I will add a serving of low carb veggies or fruit. The last week or so I've noticed a decrease in my appetite and I'm not sure exactly why that is - but hey! I'll take it!  Wink

2 eggs/cheese/lowfat turkey ham

Protein pudding

Sprouted bean chili and TVP
added: cauliflower, brocolli, carrot mixed veggies

Maybe some dry roasted edamame and 2 dalecarlian chocolate horses from Sweden a coworker  brought in
Dinner TBD

Quest bar

Vitamins: yes, Fluids: working, Exercise: walk

Happy anniversary week Kierie!  Kiss Wish I had some good advice - I would've gotten my own SF, but it's tough and I sometimes do well and other times don't.  Embarrassed I think maybe keeping protein bars or something like that with you would help at least keep you from sugar crashing so bad.

Hey Diana - happy birthday week!  Kiss

Hi all.

Been way off the wagon, so trying to get back on this week.  Trying to cut a lot of the carbs out that have made their way back into my day and start the exercise back up.  Also have to start cutting the amounts back and eat more often instead.   Not aiming for perfection this week, just improvement.  At the moment my head is banging but I am not surprised.  I was 14 pounds over my low point this morning.

Breakfast - Premier Prot RTD, 2 coffee with sf torini and creamer
Snack - 1 baby bell cheese
Lunch - cottage cheese about 1/2 C, 1 can vienna smoked links, 1 C chunks of golden honeydew
Snack- 2 single club crackers and 1 baby bell, premier prt RTD
Supper - eggs, turkey bacon, cheese on 1/2 of a toaster arnolds thin bagle
snack - 1 baby bell and raw carrots with hummus
The last 1/2 slice of my birthday cheesecake

exercise, heading to the church gym to walk since it is so hot.

Hey Paula - you can do it. I was in the exact same place not too long ago myself. Oddly, adding carbs - the right kind - has helped control my appetite though  I have no idea why except maybe that's what my body wanted. I've been doing a lot of beans and TVP and oat bran and TVP and those two things really fill me up. Could be the TVP! I am also adding good veggies in and that is helping too.  Kiss Kiss Kiss

You know at one point I was eating TVP quite a bit, can't remember now what I was putting it in.  How do you use it?

I mix it with oatbran and cook for breakfast, or other hotcereal and I used it in pinto beans in place of corn bread - and in chili and have actually used it in place of most of the bread to make southern style (our way anyway) sage and chicken cornbread dressing with a box of stovetop cornbread style and extra celery and onions and chicken breasts, broth and eggs and then baked it. It soaks up the liquids and is so bland it just absorbs whatever flavor you put it in. I think some folks use it like granola on yogurt with some sweetener and fruit and David S. has a recipe for a tuna salad made with and served on granny smith apple slices. I'm still experiementing but I think a good sugar free bread type pudding might be possible too. I get the fine pieces, not the big chunks. It gives the food extra bulk that seems to help me stay satisfied and not get hungry as quickly.
