I know some of you were wanting to know what my new dietitian said about protein. I met with her the first time this past week. She said 60-80g of protein would be good for me. I get in about 40-50g now. So, she let me add one meal of protein to what I currently eat. She actually said I could have a 1/4 cup of nuts as my extra meal each day because I love them so much and they are a good source of protein. She said my weight loss might slow a little by doing so, but she said that I am doing great on that and she thinks I will still make my goal ahead of time. She was great, so glad I chose her. Glad I switched, thanks everyone for your input! Oh, she said the hair loss is normal, and that I will probably loose more until I get into maintenance. She said not to worry unless it starts coming out in handfuls. She said biotin and zinc might help if I am deficient in those nutrients, but she doesn't think I am.

Yay!

Sounds like a smart lady...ya got a good one there... Wink

I know that they are still up in the air about the Biotin but since I have been taking it my hair has stopped falling out in clumps...and the hair on my legs is growing like crazy! Really NOT a side effect I had wanted... Shocked

LOL! I think I might try it. Where do you purchase it? Can I get it at a regular store?

But you are right about the time when people's hair loss slows down... so I suspect it's a coincidence.

Biotin is also great for your nails! ! take a 1 mg capsule daily. I get mine at The Vitamin Shoppe.
